Melia Hotels International has added its sixth hotel in Bulgaria, the Sun Marina Palace, a four-star holiday resort with 128 rooms located in Nessebar, as reported by the company in a statement. The hotel, an establishment opened in 2004, has been incorporated into Melia Hotels International portfolio under management contract and will be operated from the summer holiday 2012 by Sol Hotels brand, joining the other resorts which operates in the area.
Sol Marina Palace has 128 rooms, a main restaurant for 140 people, four bars, spa, sauna and whirlpool, among others. The hotel also has two meeting rooms for holding all kinds of events, with capacity for 97 and 140, respectively.
Incorporating “reinforces” the offer of the Spanish company in one of the “main” tourist destinations in the Balkans, where it has increased “significantly” the number of visitors in recent years.
Meliá Hotels International began its expansion in Bulgaria in 2007 with the opening of Melia Grand Hermitage, a five star hotel of 727 rooms located 17 kilometers from the city of Varna, the second largest in the country. In addition, the company has four other holiday resorts, operated by its brand Sol Hotels: Sol Nessebar, Sol Nessebar, Sol Nessebar Palace and Sun Moon Bay Resort.
